Pablo Picasso was born on the 25'Th of October in 1881 in Malaga in Spain. Pablo Picasso is to be considered as one of the best known and most influential artist of modern art in the twenty century. The painter went through different "Early Phases". The first period is known as The Blue Period (1901-1904). In 1904 he moved to Paris and he was soon recognised among the Parisian avant garde artists, and he became friend of Henry Matisse, Derain and other leading figures. His second phase, known as the Rose Period (1904-1906), had its tone and colour lightened, -and the themes were often related to circus performers, harlequins, etc. This period was followed by the developing of the principles of the Cubism (1907), along with the French painter Georges Braque (1862-1963). Picasso's art is not only known for the paintings, but the master was also exploring other media such as collage, sculpture, and pottery.
