Edvard Munch - Art GalleryEdvard Munch was born on the 12'Th of December 1863 at Løten in Norway. Munch is regarded as the most important Norwegian painter in the 20'Th century. Together with Vincent van Gogh, Munch is to be considered as the main resource of the German expressionism. Munch's works reflects his anxienties and desperations expressed by use of strong colors and distorted forms. Typical we can observe this by studying his masterpiece "The Scream", where the painter is expression his fear and anxienty experienced during a sunset outside Krisiania (today Oslo) in 1893. Edvard Munch died on the 23'rd of January 1944 at Ekely in Norway. |
